Welcome Joey

Wow, I just realized I've not updated this thing since Joey was born! Things are going great! Joey is such a wonderful baby!!!! His personality is starting to show. He's so funny!!

We gave Joseph his first real bath last night. We had to wait until his little umbillical cord came off so needless to say, he wasn't too crazy about the bath. The minute his little butt hit the water, he peed all over my shirt!! Then he started crying, after a couple mintues, he finally calmed down.

Anyways, I will update again soon when I get a chance.

I figured I would give y'all a quick update. Wednesday I started having stronger contractions so I called up the doctor and they had me come in. I'm 1 centimeter dialated and my cervix is 50% thinned and the contractions were 7 mintutes apart. The doctor sent me home with instructions to drink lots of water because apparently, you can become even a little dehydrated and that can cause contractions, well, it worked for a while, but I'm still having contractions! The doctor said I could go like tomorrow or in a week! Babies with down syndrome are usually born early, rarely on time, So ANYTIME!!! Yesterday I started having more pressure too and I just feel funny. I just want to go into full labor and get this over with! I'm so excited now! So needless to say, I'm drinking lots of water to keep myself hydrated, my bags are packed for the hospital and now I just need my baby Joey to come!

Onto other news... we found a new home for Chewie. We are taking him to his new family tomorrow so that's really depressing but it's not only better for Patrick and I, but also for Chewie. He'll get more attention this summer with his new family than what we would be able to give him with a new baby. The really funny thing about this family is that the mom works at Yale in the Maternity Center so she's going to be one of the people taking care of me and Joey! They are very willing and want us to come visit Chewie and promised to keep us updated on how he is doing.

If I don't updated for a while or I'm not on AIM or MySpace, you know that I'm prolly in the hospital having Joey!

Wow, I'm way overdue for a new post on this thing so per Stephanie's request... here I go!

Not much new has been happening. Well I can't say not much... unfortunatly, we have to get rid of Chewie, which is totally breaking my heart but I have to think about my family first. He tried biting one of my brother in law's friends and he also snapped at me. We thought he was doing so much better and he's not. He's still snippy with strangers and since there's going to be therapists coming and going from our house for Joey, we just can't chance him biting one of them. Also, seeing that he snapped at me, now I don't trust him with Joey. So now I'm in the process of finding him a new home. I contacted a pet rescue and they are helping me to find Chewie the proper home. I get to interview the people interested in him over the phone and if I think they're a candidate, then take Chewie to see if they get along. If Joey comes before I find Chewie a home, he will go to a "foster home" rather than to a shelter. This is so unfair to him, but it's something I have to do. Anyways, before I start crying....

I finally got Joey's nursery finished! It looks so cute! Now I just need Joseph to make the room complete! Only 5 more weeks! I go next week to the doctor to see if I'm "progressing" for labor. And I go once a week now! I'm almost there!

For those of you who don't have a myspace... get one! It's so addicting seeing who all you can find from high school and to see what they're doing. Here's the link to mine.

Well I better go do some laundry or something! Toodles!
